somewhat unexpectedly…

….i’m pretty sure i’ve nailed down the six tracks for the next ep.

all bar one are pretty much structurally intact and that one is close. this means i’ve got a couple of weeks additional leeway to focus on ‘finishing’ them from a compositional point of view (adding in more sonic elements, making sure everything ‘works’ together etc) before my self imposed cut off point of mid-june. stopping all but minor adjustments by mid-june should comfortably allow sufficient time for mixing and mastering for a early august release.

i’m really pleased. the tracks feel to me like they belong together and although i had maybe hoped i’d drop a noisier track into this ep, given that these all fit together, i’m comfortable enough that anything new that comes along can go on a future ep.

i’m pleased too that these new tracks feel different from the last ep, rather than more of the same. happy times.
