zwischen den Jahren
I am lucky enough to have been able to engineer myself time off between Xmas and New Year (the happy flipside of being very busy at work before and after the break). I’ve been taking it very easy both physically and mentally - basically just splitting my time between family, working on music and going for walks.
The music stuff I’ve been working on has been pushing in quite different directions. Some of it is definitely some of the oddest stuff I’ve come up with, whilst some of it has just been really quiet simple stuff which so far just has piano and violin.
I guess a lot of this is down to still finding my way around what the software can do - sometimes I can just disappear down a wormhole after a specific sound and by the time I come up for air, I’m sonically somewhere quite unexpected.
I’m also feeling increasingly hampered by my lack of musical theory knowledge. I need to do something about that. For now though, I’m just going with the flow.
