It started, as things sometimes do, with an ending.

Having spent years happily skirting the edges of various music scenes and playing with a number of acts, this year has brought as much upheaval for me as it has everyone else.

The arrival of lockdown in early 2020, coupled with a serious injury that left me without feeling in my left hand, hastened the dissolution of my previous band and a shift to a different musical style and approach to music making.

With time to kill and the need to move to something that relied less on direct ‘performance’, I decided to finally make a start on an idea for a project that had been gestating in my head for some time.

This has entailed me learning from scratch to use software to create electronic based music - a process I now see will probably keep me busy for decades to come - and mix and master my own music. I’ve not done any of this before.

It’s pretty clear to me that I’ve got a lot to learn and my early efforts may well be terrible, but I’ve decided to not worry about other people think and not to delay releasing stuff out into the world. All too often I’ve seen people’s desire to create choked by their concerns around sharing it and I suspect I’ve been guilty of that myself in the past.

I’m having the time of my life, currently, being totally creatively free, answering to no-one and chasing the sounds in my head. I figure, since I doubt anyone will be paying attention or would even care if they did notice, why not just stick stuff out there into the world?

So that’s where we are and why we’re here. Hello.
